AJDOVSCINA AIRFIELD

Spotting Info
In the west of Ajdovscina town, alongside road 609. Very friendly, ask for access and they should open the hangars for you. A couple of gliders are stored, dismantled in the roof.

LESCE AIRFIELD

Spotting Info
Just east of Lesce village, you'll need to exit the A2 at either end of Lesce as the entrance is off the local road to Hlebce - there's no direct access off the A2. Very friendly, ask for access to the airfield and hangars.

LJUBLJANA-BRNIK AIRPORT (LJLJ/LJU)

Spotting Info
  • The views from the terminal are limited, apart from a good view of the runway and aircraft parked directly in front of the terminal. There's an excellent cafe and viewing area on the roof of the terminal building from which all movements can be monitored. Difficult to identify the GA from here though. To the left of the terminal as you exit is a car park where you can see most of the airliner traffic from, as they park on a couple of remote stands opposite this car park. The hangars and military ramp are to the right as you exit, but there is a security barrier barring entry. Most of the light aircraft and resident biz are down here alongside the Adria hangar and its stored CRJs. Preserved outside the terminal is YU-AFF DC6.
  • On the other side of the runway, a track runs the full length of the airport parallel with the runway and alongside the fence. It connects the northern and southern perimeter roads. It should give great views across to the airport - starting from the south and working north you'll see the fire training aircraft (registration?), helicopter hangars and apron (behind these building are the 3 preserved military jets unless these have moved on), GA ramp, Adria hangars and apron with their stored aircraft and then the terminal and remote stands.

    PORTOROZ AIRPORT

    Spotting Info
5km south of Portoroz town and alongside road 111. Very friendly, ask for access to go airside and it should be granted.

    POSTOJNA AIRFIELD

    Spotting Info
South of Postojna town, alongside road 6. Very friendly, ask for access to their hangars. There are also a couple of aircraft stored in the winch hangar.
