KUALA LUMPUR-SEPANG AIRPORT (WMKK/KUL)

Spotting Info
Airside views from the main terminal are good, but if transiting you can see most movements from the various food outlets situated around the central satellite terminal area. There are also windows on the ground floor. All Air Asia are now deployed to the new low cost terminal (LCCT), which is located to the south. From the viewing deck on the departure levels landside, you can see all movements on both runways and should not miss very much. Follow signs for the observation hall and from here all movements can be seen. You will look out across to the International terminal which you can visit via a sky train that runs between the terminals but nothing much can be seen from here so stay in the domestic terminal. To the left of you is the Malaysia Airlines gates and to your right is your Air Asia parking gates therefore everything landing will taxi past you and nothing can be really missed from this point.

Planespotting Hotels
The Pan Pacific Hotel is across from the terminal. Five minutes walk or by free courtesy bus. Views will depend on active runway, but best view is across to the eastern runway. Executive room 963 for example, has good views, but any standard rooms on lower floors on this side will have views. The main runway, which runs along side the hotel, is the busier of the 2 and all departures can be easily read off. This runway is also used for arrivals during its busy times 7am-11am then 3pm-6pm, and again all arrivals are easy to read. From the room you will get a partial view of the Malaysian Airlines gates and you will get these as they vacate the runway on arrival or taxi out for departure. You can also walk from the hotel to the terminal and the observation hall.
The Pan Pacific Hotel features on for reviews, prices and room availability

PENANG AIRPORT (WMKP/PEN)

Spotting Info
Limited views of the ramp from the fence to the right as you exit the airport. Views also of cargo but quite distant. There's a fence beside the GA ramp so no problem there. No problems with security.
