LAGOS-MURTALA MUHAMMED AIRPORT (DNMM/LOS)

Spotting Info
Two north-south parallel but offset runways; the International Terminal in between the two runways, the Domestic Terminal alongside the eastern edge of the eastern parallel runway, 01R/19L - this is the Domestic runway. 01L/19R is the International runway and you'll most likely be landing on this one. South of the Domestic Terminal is the military ramp, north of the Domestic Terminal are the stored airliners, maintenance hangars and beyond that, alongside the threshold of 19L is the scrapping/long term storage area. Check the wind direction, and therefore runway usage, before departing, to make sure you sit on the best side of the aircraft. Landing on the northerly 01L, you'll need a starboard seat. As you touchdown, you'll pass the old scrap area where there could well be bits and pieces left from airliners long gone. You'll then pass the cargo ramp, which often has some exotic aircraft parked up. On departure off 01L, if you get high enough quickly enough, you'll be able to see across to the storage areas and some well timed photos and/or notes quickly made, should help you tie these up later.

Whilst flying in and out of Lagos airport as part of a package holiday or similar is perfectly fine and safe, it's not recommended that you visit the airport to spot for the day. During your time at the airport, be discreet with your spotting, and mini bins are advised. Your package holiday should include transfer to and from your accommodation - never use local taxis.
