The airliners will use 14/32 with any GA flights often using 06/24. From the terminal you can walk to both the northern side of 14/32 and the southern side. To stay north of the runway, leave the terminal, turn right, and walk past the car parks until you see a grassy mound with a path leading to a main road. Head to the main road, turn right and follow the path until you reach the airport fence and continue along on a wide pavement (separated from the road by a grass verge). Head past the VIP entry gate and crash gate 3 and you'll find holes in the fence specially cut for photographers. This path runs all the way to the 32 threshold. South of 14/32 near the Medavia complex is 'The Spotters Platform' - turn left when leaving the terminal and walk along until you reach a main road. Turn left and follow it under the runway through a tunnel. After the tunnel take the first road to the left, walk along about 400 yards and you will see the raised viewing platform. It looks over the fence at 14/32, facing the terminal and apron. Keep an eye out for biz and GA landing on 06/24 - they park away from this platform and the main terminal so won't taxi towards you. You'll have to get them on landing or on taxi to the GA park. A bonus here is a shaded place to sit under the platform if the heat gets too much. About a hundred yards further along there is a road crossing to allow aircraft to enter the Medavia complex. N720JR B720 has been stored here for many years now and is parked alongside 06/24 near the control tower. 9L-LDJ BAC1-11 is also stored here in a derelict condition north of 06/24 - both locations are plotted in the Spotting in Malta Download for Google Maps, Google Earth and SatNavs. Malta-Luqa Airport Website To book hotels in Malta and read reviews visit
