OBAN-NORTH CONNEL AIRPORT (EGEO/OBN) - TWR 118.05

Spotting Info
Just north of Connel Bridge off the A828 and signposted. Turn left into the entrance and follow the road round to the right. Views of the apron can be had to the left and right of the terminal and through the window inside the terminal building. The light aircraft park to the left of the tower or to the right of the terminal on the far side of the apron. The Connel Flying Club's hangar faces towards the car park, so if the door is open all can be seen. The gliding club's hangar is a little further up a rough track, but no access to vehicles. Two helicopter pads are to the left of the terminal building. Very friendly, ask for access. They may even be able to escort you airside for some photographs, the location of the airport is excellent.

Views across the apron can be had by walking past the tower heading southwards and around the gate marked "No Vehicle access". Follow this track around then climb a small mound to the right, which will give you views of the two helipads and the terminal. Useful for photographers as this will place you close to the 01 threshold with the sun at your back. Also you can great landing shots with the bay by going back down the A828, turning left into the village of North Connel, parking up and walking round the airfield fence on the southern side. They land over water so it makes for some nice shots.
